Porto, Foz & Matosinhos
A compact northern city with Atlantic suburbs and a strong local identity.

A compact northern city with Atlantic suburbs and a strong local identity.
Porto offers serious city life at a more compact scale than Lisbon, with the Douro, an international airport and established cultural and business networks. Central Porto rewards buyers who enjoy dense historic streets; Foz brings the ocean and established family neighbourhoods; Matosinhos adds beaches, newer apartments and a more contemporary everyday feel. The climate is cooler, wetter and windier than southern Portugal: an advantage for some buyers, a surprise for others.
